As our business grows, we are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company and help ensure strong financial organization, accuracy, and consistency.
Job Description
The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the daily accounting operations of Hancock Aviation. This role plays an important part in ensuring invoices are issued promptly, vendor payments are managed correctly, and financial records remain organized and compliant.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple financial responsibilities in a fast-paced operational environment.
Responsibilities
- Generate and send customer invoices based on completed work orders
- Monitor and manage accounts receivable, including follow-up on past-due invoices
- Process vendor bills and maintain accurate accounts payable records
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online
- Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration
- Prepare financial documentation and reports for management and CPA review
- Track and assist with sales tax filings and compliance
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records
- Support internal financial organization as the company continues to grow
Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial recordkeeping
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a service-based business (construction, maintenance, manufacturing, etc.)
- Familiarity with accounts receivable and collections processes
- Experience coordinating with external CPAs or tax professionals
